Romford M.P. and member of the Crossrail All-Party Parliamentary Group Andrew Rosindell has condemned the latest delay to Crossrail, calling on Mayor of London Sadiq Khan to resign for “comic incompetence” after confirmation that the new line won’t open until May 2022 at the earliest.
Andrew Rosindell M.P. said:
“Sadiq Khan is reported to have told a fringe event at Labour conference that ‘you will not get a national recovery without a London recovery.’ Well we will not get a London recovery with the Mayor’s comic incompetence.
In 2016 he was handed over Crossrail with the project running essentially on time yet almost three years on from its launch date in late 2018 we now hear that it won’t be ready for the beginning of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in February, despite the line being named the Queen Elizabeth Line.
Such an appalling record in most walks of life would be a resigning offence and Sadiq Khan should do the right thing and step down from a post he is clearly not capable of fulfilling.”
