Andrew Rosindell M.P., Member of Parliament for Romford, will be voting for a new law that will legislate for an in-out referendum on the European Union by 2017, when it comes before Parliament on Friday 5th July.
Andrew Rosindell M.P. said:
“Although I usually have many constituency engagements in Romford on a Friday, and hold regular information and advice surgeries on Friday afternoons, it is essential that I am in Parliament to vote for a law that will make an in-out EU referendum reality.
“This issue is of incredible importance to the people of Romford, who want to see an in-out referendum so our country can decide this issue once and for all.
“With Labour and Liberal Democrat opposition, this Bill is not guaranteed passage, so I will make sure I am in Parliament to support it.
“The British people should have the right to decide on our future relationship with the European Union.”
The European Union (Referendum) Bill will be moved by the Conservative Member of Parliament for Stockton South, James Wharton. It will require the referendum to be held by 2017, and will ask the following question:
“Do you think that the United Kingdom should be a member of the European Union?”
The vote on this Bill will be on Friday 5th July and the Government Chief Whip has put in place a Three Line Whip (the strictest form of parliamentary discipline) on all Conservative Members of Parliament to vote for the referendum bill.
