I was delighted to be invited to Mass at St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church (Lithuanian Church), in Cambridge Heath, to celebrate Lithuania's Independence Day on Friday 11th March.
I have supported Lithuania for many years now and admire their love of freedom, democracy and their own culture. It is a great delight to have such a large Lithuanian community in my constituency of Romford and across Havering as a whole. They are now British-Lithuanians are very much part of our community.
I was joined by the Lithuanian Ambassador to the U.K. His Excellency Renatas Norkus and Andrius Kavaliauskas, Chairman of the Conservative Friends of Lithuania. The Mass was said by Fr. Petras Tverijonas (Lithuanian Chaplaincy) and Bishop Nicholas Hudson (Diocese of Westminster).
