I was honoured to be invited along to Queen's Hospital in Romford to be part of the memorial tree planting ceremony.
The tree is dedicated to those who have lost their lives of Covid-19 at Queen's Hospital, but also pays tribute to the selflessness of staff at Queen's from the frontline nurses to the cooks, cleaners and doctors who were integral to the fight against the pandemic.
I would love to see trees planted every year at Queen's Hospital to remember the sacrifice so many doctors, nurses and frontline workers make each year as well as a tree to remember those we lose each year through all sorts of different illnesses.
I was joined by Cllr. Christine Vickery (Deputy Mayor), Cllr. Damian White (Leader of Havering Council) and Queen's Hospital CEO, Matthew Trainer for the ceremony which I was delighted to be invited to so I could pay my respects to those in Romford who have lost loved ones to Covid.
