Andrew Rosindell M.P., Member of Parliament for Romford, has paid tribute to Drummer Lee Rigby on a visit to the site of the brutal murder in Woolwich.
Drummer Lee Rigby, a 25 year old soldier, was killed in an attack near the Woolwich Barracks last month.
Andrew was joined by the Cllr. Osman Dervish (Chairman of the Romford Conservative Association and Chairman of Havering’s Crime & Disorder Committee), to lay flowers close to the barracks where the soldier was so brutally murdered.
Andrew Rosindell M.P. said:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Drummer Lee Rigby’s family and friends as they face the funeral soon of their loved one.
This was a shocking attack and I am absolutely appalled by the actions of the individuals involved. Such people have no place in a free and democratic society and I hope they are locked up for the rest of their lives.
The bravery and instinctive courage on the streets of Woolwich following the attack, when the killers were confronted by members of the public, shows the strength and resolve of the British people and how we will always overcome attacks such as these and defeat extremism.”
Cllr. Osman Dervish said:
“I congratulate the Metropolitan Police on their swift response to this incident and look forward to the perpetrators of this crime being brought to face justice for what they have done. I was proud to visit Woolwich with Andrew Rosindell M.P. to lay flowers in memory of Drummer Lee Rigby.”
