This week, Andrew has again been on the streets of Romford to visit local residents and engage with them on local matters.
On Monday 22nd January, Andrew began the week visiting homes in Lower Mawneys, largely discussing the Council's plans for the development of high-rise flats on the Como Street Car Park. In response to this, and with the overwelming majority view of residents in the area, Andrew launched the Como Street Action Group on Friday night to oppose these plans (which you can read about further here.)
This was followed by a visit on the Thursday 25th January to the Crowlands area: Honiton, Cotleigh, Stockland, Eastbury Roads.
Then on Friday, Andrew paid a visit to the Rotunda, having the following to say on social media:
Brilliant visiting the iconic Romford landmark ‘The Rotunda’ and delighted to see the communal garden, chat to local residents and hear their views and concerns. How disappointing that @LBofHavering have not fulfilled a promise to implement much needed improvements!
The week was concluded on Saturday and Sunday with visits, alongside Cllr. Christine Vickery, to the areas of Hornchurch which are being transferred to the Romford constituency. This was an opportunity for Andrew to introduce himself as the M.P. to the residents who live there.
Visiting the new areas of Hornchurch this weekend to the west of River Ravensbourne, that are now transferred to the Romford constituency to meet local people, hear their views and take up important issues. So nice to receive such a warm welcome from new Romford voters
