Andrew Rosindell M.P., Member of Parliament for Romford, joined The Rev'd Roderick Hingley and the congregation of St Alban's Church, Romford, for the dedication of the new cross at the west end of the church.
The cross was blessed by Bishop John William Salt, the former Bishop of St Helena, who is a great firend of the parish.
Also on hand for the occasion were the Deputy Lieutenant, the Deputy Mayor of Havering, and the Leader of Havering Council.
The cross finally replaces the cross that was originally in that position which was destroyed by a gust of wind during the 1940s.
It is dedicated to the celebration of Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and is inscribed in Her Majesty's honour.
