Andrew Rosindell M.P. has released a statement following the Department for Health and Social Care's announcement that Queen's Hospital will be receiving a new surgical assessment unit which will see 10 extra patients at a time to prepare for theatre. The statement is as follows:
"I am thrilled to announce today that Queen's Hospital is set to receive a substantial investment of £3 million. This funding will be utilised to establish a state-of-the-art surgical assessment unit, equipped to accommodate an additional 10 patients simultaneously, streamlining the preparation process for surgeries. This initiative is part of a broader commitment, wherein 30 hospitals are being granted funding to ensure a smooth flow of patients out of A&E and alleviate the strain on hospital beds during the winter months.
The new unit at Queen's Hospital will not only expedite surgical preparations but also contribute to a more efficient healthcare system overall. As always, I remain committed to advocating for the best interests of our community's health and well-being."
