Further to his article on the project in August 2023, Andrew Rosindell M.P. has applauded the Government on its Parks tennis investment programme - an inititative inaugurated with the help of The L.T.A. Tennis Foundation.
Inviting Andrew to a reception in Parliament to meet key stakeholders on this, the L.T.A. have stated that:
[The event] follows investment into park tennis courts in Romford with £314725.02 being invested to transform the courts at Raphael's Park, Rise Park, Lodge Farm Park, Hylands Park and Haynes Park.
In response, Andrew has stated:
This initiative from the national Government brings much needed recreational investment to Romford!
The national Parks Tennis Project, part funded by the U.K. Government, has brought almost £315,000 of investment to tennis courts in Raphael Park, Rise Park, Lodge Farm Park, Hylands Park and Haynes Park.
Not only refurbishing existing courts, but this funding will also enable more adults and children from Havering to discover new ways to get active and socialise with those across the community.
With the Lawn Tennis Association Tennis Foundation working in conjunction with local authorities to provide engaging and accessible opportunities, I encourage individuals and families alike to explore all that this exciting project has to offer!
I used to love playing Tennis when I was a pupil at Marshalls Parks School. It is a great national sport for everyone to enjoy, keeping us active and healthy.
