Zaafran in Romford has been nominated by Andrew Rosindell M.P. to take part in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition, to find the best South Asian Restaurant in the country.
In this, the tenth year of the competition, M.P.s have once again been asked to nominate a restaurant in their constituency for the regional heats. Last year, 94 restaurants from all over the country were nominated for the Finals.
The Tiffin Cup is awarded every year by the M.P.s of the Tiffin Club, formed in 2006 by former M.P. John Barrett, Michael Fabricant M.P., and Keith Vaz M.P. The aim of the Club is not only to applaud the quality of South Asian food in Britain but also to raise much needed money for charity. This year the competition is in aid of ‘World Vision’, the world’s largest international children’s charity.
The Grand Final of the Tiffin Cup 2015 is due to be held in the House of Commons, Westminster, on Tuesday 27th October 2015.
Following the announcement of the nominees, Chair of the Tiffin Club, Keith Vaz M.P. said:
“After the overwhelming success of last year’s competition we are looking forward to another chance, this year, to sample some of the best offerings of Indian food in Britain.
I am so grateful that Andrew has nominated a restaurant in his constituency for the regional heats of this year’s competition, and I wish Zaafran the best of luck!”
In addition, Andrew said:
“I am delighted that the nomination for Zaafran has been accepted and that they are taking part in this year’s Tiffin Cup. This is such a prestigious competition and I look forward to welcoming Zaafran to the House of Commons, should they win their regional heat.
I am sure everyone in Romford will be rooting for Zaafran to become Tiffin Cup Champions 2015!"
