It is always a delight to celebrate St. George's Day in Romford and in Westminster and this year was no different, with a weekend jam-packed with festivities and pageantry to celebrate our Patron Saint of England.
It was an absolute pleasure to host the Parliamentary Branch of the Royal Society of St. George, a group I am genuinely honoured to be Chairman of, for a St. George's Day reception in Speaker's House.
We were joined by M.P.s, Peers, Ambassadors, Councillors and friends as we celebrated the Patron Saint of not only England, but Catalonia too and I was delighted to introduce the outgoing Catalonian Government Representative in London, Sergi Marcen to address the event.
The celebrations on Saturday in Romford Market were as spectacular as ever, with the Royal British Legion Band & Corps of Drums, Romford marking the occasion with classic tunes as well as patriotic music and to cap the day off, we were joined by our magnificent Royal Town Cryer, Tony Appleton.
