Andrew Rosindell M.P. has reiterated his support for Transport for London’s (TfL) submission for Major Road Network (M.R.N.) funding for the refurbishment and strengthening of the Gallows Corner Flyover in Romford.
The existing flyover at Gallows Corner was built in the 1970s and needs major repairs. TfL have assessed all options for its renewal, and Mr Rosindell is confident that their proposed plans will ensure there is a reliable structure in place for many generations to come.
“I am pleased that TfL would urgently like to progress with the refurbishment and strengthening of the Gallows Corner Flyover,” said Mr Rosindell. “I have previously written to the Department for Transport (DfT) to express my support for this scheme, and I am writing again to reiterate this support.
“The existing flyover is a vital piece of infrastructure in Romford, and it is essential that it is brought up to a safe and reliable standard. I am confident that TfL’s plans will achieve this, and I urge the DfT to approve their funding application.”
The DfT is expected to make a decision on TfL’s funding application in the coming weeks. Mr Rosindell has called on the DfT to approve the application, so that the refurbishment of the Gallows Corner Flyover can be completed as soon as possible.
