Last night, Andrew Rosindell M.P., held an M.P.'s community advice and information surgery in the Mawney Arms for those living in the Lower Mawneys area. Several issues were raised, ranging from local council matters to the broader, national picture.
Writing on social media soon after the meeting, Mr Rosindell said the following:
A very busy MP’s Community Advice & Information Surgery on Friday for the Lower Mawneys area. Pleased to meet so many local people and offer my help and support on a multitude of issues as well as hear resident’s views on Havering council services, NHS, immigration and the state of our town centre!
Following the surgery, Andrew, alongside local Conservative councillors, launched the Como Street Action Group - an organised group aiming to oppose Havering Council's plan to build highrise flats on Como Street.
Succeeding his previous post, Andrew went on to say:
Huge opposition expressed by local people over plans by @LBofHavering to build yet more highrise flats on the Como Street Car Park! Happy to host a public meeting on Friday at Mawney Arms with local councillors to launch the ‘Como Street Action Group’ to fight these proposals!
Advice on dates and times of future surgeries will be made known on this website, social media, and through your letterboxes in due course.
