In his capacity as Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Switzerland, Andrew Rosindell M.P. had the privilege of hosting a delegation from the Canton of Ticino, one of two Italian speaking regions of Switzerland.
In light of the United Kingdom's decision to leave the European Union, fostering relations with close partners like Switzerland could not be more essential, and Andrew has the honour of doing so at the highest level in Parliament.
Besides our long history of friendship, the United Kingdom and Switzerland share a lot in common, not least our defence of national sovereignty in the face of regional federalism.
On social media, Andrew had this to say:
As Chairman of the UK-Switzerland All Party Parliamentary Group, I was very pleased to host the President and members of the Grand Council of the Italian speaking Canton of Ticino in Westminster on Friday evening, along with His Excellency the Ambassador of Switzerland. Today, thanks to the opportunities that BREXIT has given us, Britain has a flourishing relationship with Switzerland for trade, financial services and diplomatic co-operation - proud independent European nations working together without any suggestion of political union!
