Andrew Rosindell M.P. came out in support of the residents of Mount Pleasant Road in Collier Row following years of speeding cars passing through the road.
On the 4th May, Andrew joined a local resident who formed a petition which has been signed by several residents up and down the road and has affirmed that he will assist them in seeking a solution.
As reported by the Havering Daily:
Dean Cooper, a Collier Row resident has launched a petition to have speeding restrictions put into place on Mount Pleasant Road following endless daily speeding. Mr Cooper has the full backing of the Member of Parliament for Romford, Andrew Rosindell who visited the road to witness the problems for himself over the weekend. Mr Cooper told the Havering Daily: ”Vehicles along our road daily exceed the 30mph speed limit. As it is a long straight road, they pick up speed as they go downhill which is extremely dangerous. This is particularly noticeable during rush hour when children are walking to and from nearby schools, or being dropped off at the nursery at the end of the road. “over the last four years myself and many other concerned residents have been in contact with highways officers, Havering Safer Neighbourhoods and local councillors, but have had no success in securing any progress in installing calming measures.”
