Upon learning of the block booking of Harefield Manor Hotel, Andrew Rosindell M.P. lodged a freedom of information (FOI) request with Waltham Forest Council to confirm the rumours that they are responsible for this.
Today, they have responded answer as follows:
(Q1) If the Council is indeed intending on housing residents in Romford.
(A) London Borough of Waltham Forest has spot purchased a number of rooms at Harefield Manor Hotel for use as temporary accommodation for eligible homeless households. All Waltham Forest households living in temporary accommodation receive support from our Temporary Accommodation Resettlement Support Officers (TARSO), who assist with exploring move on options and tenancy sustainment.
[To all the remaining questions, the response was to consult the answer above.]
(Q2) If yes to (1), what are/were the status of these residents prior to being housed.
(Q3) If Harefield Manor is one such location.
(Q4) If there are any other locations in the Romford constituency which are being used for these purposes.
Therefore, it can be confirmed that Waltham Forest will be housing homeless individuals at Harefield Manor.
Andrew Rosindell M.P. is still awaiting a response from Havering Council Leader, Cllr Ray Morgon, regarding his initial query which can be seen here.
