In a question to the The Rt Hon. Angela Rayner M.P., Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Andrew Rosindell M.P. rightfully raised the concerns of the people of Romford who are crying out for help in the face of Sadiq Khan's developments in the centre of Romford. In response, the Secretary of State neither answered the question nor acknowledged the distress regarding over-development in what is ultimately a town and country borough. We deserve better!
As the Deputy Prime Minister should be aware, people in Romford are very angry that Mayor Khan is forcing us to build high-rise blocks. Does she agree that the London borough of Havering, despite being part of Greater London, is Essex, and that we should remain a town and country borough?
Andrew Rosindell M.P., Member of Parliament for Romford
As a Mancunian, I do not think I am in any place to tell Londoners what is in Essex and what is not.
The Rt Hon. Angela Rayner M.P., Secretary of State for Housing, Communities, and Local Communities
