St. Alban's Ward derives its name from the local parish and is characterised by the prominent Church of St. Alban Protomartyr in Princes Road. This electoral ward was initially established in 2002, and until 2022, it was part of the Romford Town Ward. However, in the 2022 elections, Romford Town Ward was divided into two, giving rise to St. Alban's Ward.
The chair of governors of Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls is the Rev. Father Roderick Hingley, who also serves as priest of the church of St. Alban Protomartyr in Romford. He has been hugely supportive of Autism Sunday. When Ivan Corea approached Father Hingley with regard to establishing the first ever Havering Autism Sunday service at St.Alban’s church in 2010, he saw the need to reach out to parents, carers and the autism community, and agreed to host the annual service. I have witnessed at first hand the moving partnership between the Frances Bardsley autism ambassadors from the sixth form and young people with autism—surely a model of how a school can make an impact in this area.

The ward encompasses the lower portion of Romford Town, extending from the vicinity of Romford Station along Victoria Road reaching into the northern reaches of Hornchurch. Noteworthy for its bustling commercial activity, Victoria Road serves as a central hub for numerous shops, contributing to the vibrancy of the constituency. St. Alban's Ward stretches southward, going as far as the lower half of Park Lane. In terms of representation, the ward elects two councillors to the Havering London Borough Council.
Outlining the geography of the ward during the presentation of a petition to save Victoria Road's Post Office:
The Victoria road post office serves the area of my constituency between Victoria road in central Romford and the Brentwood road, which borders the constituency of Hornchurch. It serves a large community, and many elderly people live in the area and depend heavily on the services that it provides. It is a focal point in the community and if it were to close, it would have a damaging effect on the local area.
The petition is supported by all shopkeepers in Victoria road and the surrounding area of central Romford. It is strongly supported by St. Alban's church in Princes road in Romford, together with the parents of children at local schools, including Manor primary school.
